Tips On Picking The Right Painter

No one wants to pay for a bad job. When you contract work out you expect a professional finished product. Hiring a painter for your home is no different. You expect and want a professional job when you hire a professional painter. Finding a painter can be as easy as opening up the phone book. Finding a good painter that stands behind his or her work can take some effort. So before you just randomly chose one lets look into what it takes to find the right guy for the job.

    How Big Is The Job?

Most of the time you may be able to do it your self. Small rooms or areas may not take as much time or effort. You can easily plan and do a small job. This is just by preference. Some people cannot stand painting or want a job that has the professional touch. Hiring a expect might be your only option.

If you are considering a do it yourself project, there are some factors to consider. Not all paint is equal, different finishes and paint surfaces exist. It doesn’t take a little bit of know how do your research. Look into different site that provide information for small home improvement projects.

    The Golden Rule

The golden rule when hiring a contractor for any job is word of mouth. A good name is something that a proud contractor stands behind. Keeping a good reputation is very important. Some professionals will go the distance to satisfy the client, while others won’t. So if you find one that comes highly recommended by a few past clients your search may be over. That’s probably the most important tip I could give on this subject (I have other tips on home remedies, but that’s different).

    Interview and Visual Inspection

Most painters will provide a free estimate. Take advantage of it and invite a handful over. This is not just about the price. Of course you want a good price, but this is also your opportunity to peer into the contractor’s character.

Does he or she have a professional appearance, clean and well kept. What type of transportation did he or she arrive in. Is the truck or van well kept, are tools and equipment thrown around? If this is a private contractor do they display a sense of pride and confidence.

Don’t Be Afraid to Ask For Referrals

If you haven’t had any luck asking around for a good painter ask them for a referral. It may seem like a stretch but anyone that’s not a hiding a bad history will share referrals. If you did something you’re proud of would you share. Thats the best way to think of it. Keep the referrals recent, don’t accept referrals from jobs that were completed over 2-3 months ago. They must be recent, if this painter is professional they must be working at all times. A current referral may not be at hand, the contractor may wish to have time to reach out to previous clients and ask for permission to share info.

If you are like me, and hate to paint, then hiring a good contractor is important. You will be happy with the job and you know you can reach out to them again in the future. It should be more of a relationship than just picking a guy with a paint brush.

A Safe And Efficient Alternative For The Workplace

If you are trying to help develop a city, town, or even a building, there is something you need to know!

Construction is a very physically demanding job. You cannot be prone to illness/flu or colds. And you need to know how to pack your own weight… as well as other heavy objects weights as well. There is a lot of heavy lifting involved. There are a lot of pallets that would need to be moved, and a lot of deliveries that may be made to your construction site. Do you really think you are going to lift 60 pound drums? Do you really think you are going to carry a 200 pound crate of parts for your trucks, drills or other types of tools? I don’t care how old you are, and I don’t care if you are a famous “strong man” who can pull a truck with your teeth; it is not safe.

I have one solution for you here today and that would be to get a forklift certificate!

What better way to carry heavy items, a distance away without straining yourself? Really, you hop in your little seat and it is just like driving a car… but with two arms out the front that lift things. Honestly, I would much rather bite the bullet, get a certificate and not have to go to countless meetings to the chiropractors or something. It pays for itself.

It really isn’t all that hard, and doesn’t take all that much time at all. And it will be more than worth it, my friend. And, most companies that do construction would have a forklift anyways, it isn’t like you are going to have to go out and buy one for yourself.

Really, if I had a job, and I was young and in a cute little relationship, or even had a wife and kids , I would not want to risk my physical health for the simple fact I was too lazy or uneducated about the alternatives. I am giving you a quick and simple solution, that could even open up a few more doors for you down the road. I would rather be safe, and in no pain that completely unsafe and have an injury that I would lose money for if I were to be bed ridden or have to go to a chiropractor. And to tell you the truth, every little boy will think you are the coolest guy on the block driving this mini truck that picks things up for you.

When it comes to a job you always want to be safe and efficient. This is the only way I can possibly think of that you can do both. This is a win win situation. Get your certificate today, start training, be safe and faster!!

    Happy Lifting!

The Challenge of Working Out in Rural Areas

There are several areas around Australia that are considered very rural, meaning it may be hard to find certain amenities that are within walking distance, and sometimes are not even in driving distance. One such amenity would be a gym. Gyms are great places to not only get in shape, but to maintain your present health. Working out daily or every other day is not only the best way to stay in shape, but this can also help with your job. Many of these rural areas are home to businesses that require physical labor such as those jobs in the construction area or other similar jobs. In these jobs, being physically fit is not only a necessity in order to do the work, but being physically fit can prevent injuries on the job.

If you do live in an area that is not near a gym, this does not give you an excuse for not working out. The best option for those who do not have a gym nearby or find that driving to a gym would result in a high expense with all the fuel needed to get there, then home workout equipment is the best option. There are several options in home gym equipment on the market. However, for those who are looking to increase their stamina, work their muscles, and help with heart health, an elliptical machine is one of the best options they can make.

Why Working Out Helps in the Workplace

For those who work in a job that requires physical labor, and even those who may not put forth much physical effort, working out is essential for your safety. For example, consider someone who make work at a desk and rarely physically does anything. They are going to find they are more tired, and due to not having as much strength or endurance, they may be easier hurt. For those who work in a physically intensive career, working out is going to ensure that you can do the job. For example, through working out, you can ensure that you are strong enough for the physical demands of your job, which decreases the chances of injuries to the back or joint issues.

Working out at Home with Ellipticals

Elliptical machines are a cardio machine that provides a great workout. These are better options than a treadmill since ellipticals do not put as much strain onto the joints, and provide a smoother run. Other health benefits of an elliptical include:

    • Helping to ensure heart health as this is a cardio exercise
    • More endurance during the day as you build this up from working your body more

The good news is that ellipticals come in various sizes and shapes, thus you can find something that is going to fit into your home easily. There are even those that fold up to be stored when not in use. In addition, at home ellipticals are just as durable as ellipticals that can be found in gyms, plus they can provide just as tough of a workout. With a wide array of prices, you can find an elliptical that is going to fit your budget as well, which is always a plus for a price conscientious person.

Working out is not something that is out of reach, even if you do live in a rural area. There is no excuse for allowing yourself to get out of shape and not being able to physically perform at your job due to the lack of gyms in the area. With a home gym, such as an elliptical machine, you can workout at your convenience, in your own home, and have a piece of equipment that is an investment into your health. For many rural areas, having workout equipment at your own home is really the only way for a person to enjoy a good workout and reap the health benefits.

The Need to be Prepared for Disasters When Working in Rural Areas

The Need to be Prepared for Disasters When Working in Rural AreasDisaster can strike anywhere. However, when you are in a rural area, it is even more challenging. For instance, a tornado hit your place. When you are in a huge city, first responders can easily come to affected areas. There are a lot of disaster vehicles on standby. However, when you are working in a rural area, you might have to wait for some time before help arrives. Though there are rescue workers in place, those people are not enough to deal with huge natural disasters.

Rescue workers from nearby places might also have a hard time reaching you especially if the rural area is quite secluded or roads are blocked due to the aftermath of the disaster. In fact, we have witnessed it in various rural area disasters across the world. When hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana, it took days before help arrived in certain areas in the state. The same thing is true during the tsunami that hit Japan. Those who lived in rural areas have to wait for days or even weeks before they got help. These are places that were supposed to have strong disaster response teams. Well, this is just because rural areas are usually secluded, quite difficult to reach and are not that populated. Hence, if you are tasked to work in a rural area, which is quite far away from huge cities, you need to be fully prepared for anything.

    Prepare a “disaster bag”

If you area is usually a target of tornadoes, earthquakes and floods, you need to be ready for the worst. If possible, you must have a bag that contains everything that you need during the worst possible times. It must contain the basics for survival. It must be easily grabbed and it must be water-proof. The bag should contain flashlight, batteries, first-aid medicines, preserved goods, a few clothes and drinking water. This bag should help you and your family for some time until help arrives.

    Disaster-proof your house

To keep you safe during natural disasters, your house must be fully prepared for it. If possible, repair everything that has to be repaired especially with roof, walls and ceilings. You should also cut huge trees that might fall into your house at any time. You must also organize the items in your house in such a way that you can easily go out when needed. If you are in a place that is prone to tornadoes, you need to create a basement where you can weather the storm.

    Prioritize your water source

If help does not arrive for days, then you are in a huge risk. Thus, it is important that you at least have a safe and potable drinking water. Make sure that your water source can contain enough water to help you pull through for a few days. You should also check your faucets and see if they are working. You can check out the best kitchen faucets for granite sinks to ensure quality and durability. When items in your home are broken, the faucets should at least remain intact. If you want to read more about kitchen faucet reviews, go to www.dripndrops.net .

There are a lot of ways to be prepared especially when you are in a rural area, which is prone to disasters.

Local Brisbane Architect wins Rural Development Award

The Local Brisbane Architects have won the 2014 Rural Development Award for the state of Queensland Australia. Nominated amongst other firms like James R Consultants, New Builder Media and Raffeallo D’Andra and Consultants; Local Brisbane Architects was the standout candidate.

Lord Jim Sorley, The Mayor of Brisbane has said that Local Brisbane Architects contribution to society, particularly in the rural areas, should be commended. “It’s great work to see that they have gone up and beyond, and the buildings that they have designed will surely reduce costs. We’ve cleared the plans to develop the units early 2015, in time for the flood seasons. We really think that the aboriginal community will be very grateful to the new dwellings.”

    The Competition

This competition was to see who could develop the most economical dwelling for the lower socio-economic persons in the rural areas. Several designs put forward which used a variety of techniques were presented to the committee.

New Builder Media presented an unconventional design, using PVC sheet metal and HVAC plastic. “We wanted to go with an igloo feel. We’ve done our research and the shape has excellent heat and cooling properties which we thought would be very appreciated in the west of Queensland”.

On the other hand, James R Consultants went with a more traditional approach with low cost sheet plaster and alloy roofing. “The walls were very thin, but we thought this would be advantageous due to the high heat of the area. Ultimately, this was our downfall as we didn’t expect to see such low temperatures in the Scida Valley.”

Lastly, Local Brisbane Architects design of using old shipping containers produced a fresh and interesting approach. “There are a lot of these units in the Rock Lea area. Just moving them down from there and re-using as housing means that we need to spend less on construction. It’s somewhat gratifying that containers that were used once to ship produces overseas are now being used as housing. We hope that the designs that we put out there will be taken with gusto by the Aboriginals of this area”.

“The designs used some plumbing innovation and were used to recycle the rain water. As the dwellings were built completely off the grid, we had to come up with a rain catchment system. We adopted designs that were used in the Nevada Desert, and used a combination of low cost air conditioning and solar grids to clean the water. As for the electricity, we are using a combination of Indian Solar Panels and Wind Turbines. Although the turbines are very small, they do give sufficient power to charge small devices such as an iPhone or small laptop.”

    The Project

Depending on how the community accepts the new buildings, we will roll out and mass produce to the rest of Australia by 2015. “It would be great if we could make over 5000 units for use in the rural bush. We expect that these new dwellings will improve the education of the Aboriginals and it will be one step closer to fully integrating these indigenous people into the Australian Society”

Assessing Health and Safety Risks in Your Business

Health and safety is an extremely important aspect of running any successful business so it is extremely important that your company maintains a policy that covers every aspect of the business.

This policy is changeable depending on the type of business that you have, with office-based businesses obviously requiring a completely different set of rules and regulations to companies that operate heavy machinery or maintain a warehouse.
As such, it can sometimes be quite difficult to determine exactly what guidelines need to placed into your policy. After all, you aren’t going to need information about how to properly handle heavy goods if your employees are working at a computer desk all day.

These guide aims to shine a little bit of a flashlight in the general direction of health and safety policies to give you an idea of how to implement them for various work situations.
Office work and safety is generally a fairly simple in comparison to other forms of work. Proper computer use and posture is important, so you will need to ensure that everybody is sat correctly when at their computer and they take regular breaks, with recommendations generally being about five to ten minutes for every hour.
You will also need to make sure that work desks aren’t cluttered with paper wherever possible and that any anomalies, such as broken light bulbs or trip hazards on the floor, are dealt with in the appropriate manner. Finally, ensure that everybody is aware of the relevant fire and first aid personnel and you are most of the way to having a good policy.
    Food Preparation
When it comes to working with food you not only have your employee’s health and safety to consider but also the health and safety of those you are serving to. Ensure that all employees are up-to-date with the latest hygiene regulations in regards to disposal of waste and preparation of food.
Furthermore only those who are trained should operate more complex machinery and cutting tools. Allowing people who are not trained to operate either could leave the company liable for compensation payments should something unfortunate happen to the worker.
Warehouses generally lack visibility and, in many cases, will see a number of people at a time operating heavy machinery such as forklifts and ladders. Ensure that employees wear high visibility gear and hard hats at all times so that they are protected from falling objects and can be seen by their fellow employees.
This is especially important when you take forklift drivers into account, who have to ensure they operate their vehicle safely. If all employees are visible to them there is far less possibility of an accident occurring.

On top of this, your drivers should be properly trained in the operation of their forklifts and the various safety precautions that they need to take when operating them in populated areas. Having special lanes dedicated to them can help save a lot of hassle.
Those are just a couple of areas of health and safety to consider, however there are many more. Ensure you have a trained professional look over your policy before implementation to ensure that nothing has been missed.

Hazards to watch out for in the booming construction industry

The booming construction industry is great for employment levels around the country, however employees and contractors working in the field should be aware of the common hazards that are present.

There are clear and apparent hazards that exist on construction sites that contribute to high fatalities and injuries each year. Aside from the many fatalities, we must consider the number of injuries, lost wages, resulting pain and suffering and lost man hours that occur as a result of construction accidents.

Construction workers should, therefore, be aware of the risks from they are engaged as employees in their areas of work. It is not just the worker who has the responsibility of protection, but employers should also put systems in place to mitigate against all possible accidents that can affect their employees.

It cannot be overemphasized that workers must comply with safety standards and to know what safety standard signs mean. Take the opportunity to give attention to information on signs posted for your area of work. Here are some common hazards and how to avoid them.

Here is a list of the 5 most common workplace-injury related situations:

    Falling from Heights

The most common danger on construction sites is falling from high places such as roofs, scaffolding, and ladders. Falls result from slipping and tripping and the shifting of ladders from where they are rooted.

Fall accidents can be reduced by ensuring that the work area is stable with the help of the use of rolling ladders instead of folding ones. Where the work involves high areas, one can reduce the risk of injuries to falls by attaching himself to a fall protection system that will arrest/prevent the fall.

    Being struck by an object

Another serious risk to a worker is being struck by an object. This may include:

    • Objects being moved overhead or while in suspension.
    • Objects flying as a result of pushing, pulling, prying, grinding and pressurization.
    • Rolling objects, such as in being hit, crushed or run over by a moving vehicle.

To help prevent such site accidents, workers should constantly scan their work area and check for work hazards. Secure materials being loaded or moved so they do not fall. To add to this, never walk under objects being moved above you. Ensure that helmets, safety glasses, face shields and other relevant personal protective equipment (P.P.E) are used. It is worthwhile to also wear a highly visible reflective vests so you can be seen at all times.

One of the most common workplace injuries in Australia (and throughout the world) involves falling objects striking a workers lower extremities. To avoid this problem, workers should wear appropriate steel toe work boots. It’s recommended that workers visit a work boot review website to find the best work boots for their individual circumstances.

Electrocution is an inherent hazard on the construction site and accounts for an average of 7% of construction related deaths each year in Australia. The main worker error is working on “live” or near live wires.

It is important that you DE-energize or turn off the electrical system or part that you will be working on and be fully aware of the risks of working near electrical equipment. Do not forget your personal protective equipment. Again, a pair of electrical shock rated work boots is very important, and should be included as mandatory P.P.E on a construction site.

    Becoming caught in between objects

Accidents in this category suggest that the worker is crushed, squeezed, pinched, drawn in, or compressed between two objects. Very often a worker’s hand is caught between a moving equipment part resulting in amputation. An accident can also occur from parts of clothing getting caught and the worker being pulled into the moving object.

If possible, turn off equipment or machinery before working with them. Be sure that you are trained to operate machinery and tools. Adhere to the manufacturers’ instructions in how to operate machinery and tools.

    Chemical hazards

Chemical hazards are ever present dangers on the construction work-sites, and can not be avoided. Workers are often exposed to dust, fumes, gases, mists and vapors which affect the respiratory organs and trigger such problems as asthma, bronchitis, silicosis and skin allergies.

Much of the effects of this type of hazard can be reduced by wearing appropriate P.P.E. Therefore, your goggles and respirator equipment will definitely be a part of the standard, and lifesaving P.P.E.

Best steel toe work boots to meet work safety standards

Steel toe boots were developed out of Germany by Dr. Klaus Marten following a skiing accident that he endured while in the Bavarian Alps during World War II. Marten found that his military issued boots were uncomfortable to wear on his injured foot. During his recovery, he designed new boots made from softer leather and air-padded soles made of tires. Marten joined old university friend, Dr. Herbert Funck to design a new shoe for comfort and functionality. Marten and Funck went into business in 1947 in Seeshaupt, Germany. Using discarded rubber from the Luftwaffe airfields, the boots were a huge success among women over the age of 40 because of their comfortable soles. 80% of their company sales in the first decade were attributed to middle-aged housewives.

Since that time, the steel toe boot has evolved to support workers in the construction, forestry, and logging industries, as well as many industrial jobs. Traditionally, the steel toe boot is made of steel, but can also be made of a composite material or aluminum. Steel toe inserts can conduct heat, cold and even current. The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) may require the use of steel toe boots in specific work environments. The best steel toe boots consist of a durable and protective reinforcement in the toe which protects the foot from falling objects and compression, and is combined with a mid-sole plate to protect the foot from punctures below. To find the best steel toe work boots for a particular job, always review the shoe ratings on traction, durability and a solid toe surface. It is also important to understand the safety symbols associated with the shoe that you purchase. Here is a listing of the safety symbols:

    • Green Triangle- Class 1 toe cap with puncture resistant sole
    • Yellow Triangle- Class 2 toe cap with puncture resistant sole
    • White Square with Ohm Symbol- Electrical protection
    • Yellow Square with SD- Anti-static protection
    • Red Square with C- Electrically conductive
    • Fir Tree- Chain saw protection

The Caterpillar Men’s 2nd Shift 6″ Steel Toe Boot is rated one of the best steel toe work boots of 2014. This boot is constructed of high quality leather and is available in soft or reinforced steel toe. Noting that Caterpillar has produced heavy equipment for nearly 100 years, it’s no doubt they have first-hand experience of the needs of people who operate their machinery in rugged environments. The 2nd Shift steel toe boots weigh about two pounds, offer good foot support, and are made of Goodyear welt construction for durability and longevity. This boot also has a nylon lining for moisture control and the Climasphere sock liner keeps feet cool in the summer and warm in the winter. They run about a half to one size larger than the regular shoe size and take a while to break in. Here’s the added bonus: The Caterpillar Men’s 2nd Shift 6″ Steel Toe Boot retails between $60.00 and $108.00.

Quality construction, light weight, great protection, cost effective, and the backing of Caterpillar and Goodyear technology are what make the Caterpillar Men’s 2nd Shift 6″ Steel Toe Boot truly the best steel toe work boots on the market today.

Explanation of How Water Softeners Work

Photo by William Herron and reproduced under Creative Commons

Hard water is a common problem in many homes. In layman’s term, it is the presence of at least 1 grains per gallon (GPG) of dissolved minerals, including magnesium carbonate, calcium, and/or manganese. Why we say at least? Because some homes can have more than 1 GPG. You can have your water tested at your local public health department to measure how hard it is.

Why is “hard water” a concern to people? To put it simply, hard water is not as efficient or convenient to work with, especially when you are washing clothes, washing the dishes, bathing, shaving, and washing your car. The residue could cause spotting in your dishes, clothes, car, and even your skin.

The mixture of soap and hard water forms a soap scum that is very difficult to rinse off. It leaves unsightly spots everywhere. If you bathe in hard water, the soap scum can clog your pores, which could lead to skin irritation, or even infection. It can also serve a breeding ground for bacteria that can make your skin itchy.

Hard water could also cause scaling of pipes and faucets as well as in your bathroom fixtures. If it is heated, the mineral residue forms a scale that plugs the pipes, faucet water heater, and bathroom fixtures, which may result to failure in your plumbing system and in the process, costly repairs.

    Water Softeners 101

To end all troubles, there are companies that offer water softeners. This product helps soften hard water through an ion exchange process. The softener mineral tank contains soft ions of sodium and potassium attached, which is used to trade places with the hard mineral ions.

It is very important to have your water tested so you will be able to determine how hard it is before you apply the necessary softener. Before you purchase a water softener, it is also important that you understand the capacity you need. You would not want to for unnecessary capacity. Water softeners include minimal amount of salt for its process. If you are watching your salt intake due to a condition, you can purchase a saltless water softener to be safe. Otherwise, you may keep a separate faucet that dispenses unsoftened water for your drinking and cooking.

Once your water is softened, you can start reaping the benefits of soap water. For one, your soap and dishwashing liquid use will be reduced in half. That’s because softeners help detergents clean your clothes and dishes better without leaving the unsightly marks of scum in them. You will also help keep your faucets and pipes free from residues that may cause it to falter and call for repairs.

    New rural maternity approaches

Due to a recent storm of controversy concerning the security and lack of health resources, many rural pregnancy care centers face closing in Australia. In tandem with this, some rural hospitals are reducing family doctor prerogatives, including those related to pregnancy care.

The effects of traveling long distances have been related by the experiences of individual women as influencing the capacity of health care provider supported delivery. Aboriginal mothers are often among those compelled to travel for pregnancy care. They frequently lack the proper health facilities nearby, and might live in low density population areas or in distant communities. They do not have access to online information about pregnancy or online calculators to help them estimate their due times such as can be found here.

    Recommendations for a better strategy

Although the problems of motherly care in distant and rural regions are old, the question remains: How can family doctors and pregnancy care professionals meet with these ongoing challenges in a successful and advanced way? A better strategy understands the value of the societal and ethnic circumstance in pregnancy care, and supports the keeping and restoration of delivery in rural, aboriginal, and distant communities. Its key recommendations contain details about the function of pregnancy care teams, concerns about exactly what makes up the standard in professional training, employees and the skills that need to be accessible and the need to constantly upgrade the abilities of healthcare professionals.

Rural in the circumstance of maternal care doesn’t have one definition; it might refer to a distant region or regions of low population density nearer to urban or suburban centers. Given the extensive variation in using the term rural and the places served, many distinct versions of attention are potential. There’s no anticipation that all communities or areas are going to have the ability to support levels or all facets of pregnancy care; the delivery of attention to kids and girls must be fit by the community’s resources and sustainable.

High quality care close to home comes in distinct types. Registered nurses, and rural family doctors, nurse practitioners, midwives might keep solo practices or work together in collaborative attention training models. Collaborative attention training models make up one approach to ensuring high standards of patient safety and care.

Nevertheless, as a fresh method of service delivery, pregnancy care teams need dialogue, cooperation, and focus to the basis of creating clear functions for all team members and determining ranges of training. These teams continue to need specialist colleagues’ support in gynecology and obstetrics, anesthesia and surgery. In rural communities, all degrees of attention can be provided for pregnancy and delivery with proper back-up and support from specialist co-workers.

Each area leading to rural maternity care must concentrate on proper competences for newborn care, and prenatal, intrapartum, but must additionally prepare its members for active involvement in a wide range of related practices. Residents of family medicine must be capable of supporting uncomplicated vaginal birth and increased learning abilities, including cesarean section, must be accessible.

The chance to revive and modernize skills with continuing instruction, is vital for all health professionals. Reasonable compensation for supply of these services should also be supplied through financing models that are upgraded and support should be accessible for the added costs of rural training. The quality of patient safety and care can be enhanced by this strategy. Successful execution will require the proper resources, teamwork, capital supports and improved skills for family doctors and their co-workers.

Is Dental Health Overlooked In Rural Area In Australia?

As a field engineer, I often need to travel to rural area for various engineering projects. I have met a lot of nice people through my travels. Unlike people in the city, people living in rural area often smile at strangers and say “Hi”. It’s absolutely wonderful. But I can’t help but notice that many people have yellow teeth when smiling. This indicates poor dental health or at least people in rural area are not brushing their teeth enough.

Personally, I am very concerned with my dental hygiene as part of keeping the well-being. I started to talk to the locals and see if they are aware of the potential dental health issue. I recommend them to start seeing dentist regularly and brush and rinse mouth after every meal.

I also shared some of the methods that I apply to maintain good dental health. They are as followed:

    1)Proper brushing.
I ensure that I use a good tooth brush by this i mean one that has neither extra hard bristles or extra soft bristles . Brushing of teeth removes plaque ,tartar thus preventing cavities, tooth decay and any sort of gum diseases . Dentists recommend that teeth should at least be cleaned twice per year professionally.

    2)Proper toothpaste
A good toothbrush should be accompanied by a good toothpaste with a well known review as they complement each other. For me, I prefer using Cedel Spearmint toothpaste, Close-up, Euthymol toothpaste, or Sensodyne toothpaste for sensitive teeth. To speed up the removal of yellow teeth or to simply maintain your teeth, I recommend Colgate Optic white. It prevents the stains from reoccurring and is quite affordable. In fact, these toothpastes are all fairly inexpensive compared to the costly professional whitening treatment.

This method removes decaying food that remains stuck between the teeth. This method is cost effective for me, considering my busy schedule , I usually do it after a meal or before brushing my teeth. The food that remains stuck between the teeth can irritate the gums and once you try removing with items such as toothpicks the gum tissues can easily be irritated and lead to bleeding. Some remains of food can also lead to cavities especially if they are acidic thus flossing is essential.

    4)Tongue cleaning
Lack of tongue cleaning is mostly the cause of bad breathe . To avoid this I usually ensure that I clean my tongue daily a I brush, this removes the bad breathe causing bacteria coating and the remains of decaying food. Proper tongue cleaning can also remove bacteria that leads to tooth decay and cavities.

    5)Types of food consumed
Apart from cleaning the teeth the type of food consumed also determines the dental hygiene of an individual. My work requires one to have strong bones and muscles, thus I usually consume food items that can help in that and lucky enough the teeth also require such food intakes. These are foods rich in vitamin B such as cereals and foods rich in vitamin C like fruits and vegetables. Others are dairy food products, animal food products like beef and the most important water as it cleans the mouth and saliva and also because it contains fluoride which is an essential mineral to the teeth. I avoid sugary foods as well as the acidic ones like vinegar.

Above are 5 tips for those who would like to improve their dental health. As for me, I’ll continue to talk to others and urge them to pay attention to dental health.
